The Wild Wild West (is not what it used to be)

After a lot of airport hassles, performances, interviews and bad coffee, yesterday we finally enjoyed the luxury of a day off in Banff. We played the Banff Centre on Sunday to a full house and a very warm welcome by the audience and our friend Kurt Bagnell, the Centre director (a true gentleman if there ever was one); but yesterday it was finally time to relax.

Banff is a great place for that: it is a mountain tourist resort where elk and bear roam freely not only the woods, but even the campus grounds (we've met elk, but not bears... no complaints here). We chose to spend our day as you would in the Alberta Rocky Mountains: riding horses on mountain trails. Very good fun, though our sense of adventure was somewhat spoilt when our guide told us that you get fined for keeping any pace faster than walk. The Wild West is not what it used to be!

I am glad to hear that you had a good day off in Banff! I have never heard your music yet, but I am looking forward to your concert in Calgary on Friday night - the description of your music style sounds fascinating.
